Project Budget
CST's goal for the Bonded Labor Project is to form a credit union for the 800 released laborers. It is estimated that Rs.1000* is needed per person to start them on their own profitable businesses. This makes a needed budget of Rs.800,000 ($17,000) in total. Already, group development capital of Rs.2000 has been provided for each of the ten SHGs from the general fund of CST. This fund is now depleted but CST must continue its support until self-dependence of the laborers is achieved.*The amounts are mainly represented in Rupees. An exchange rate for US dollars is taken in this proposal as Rs.46.97 for US$1.00 as of 25/07/2001. CST is not responsible for changes in exchange rate.
