Child Development Day Care Center (CDC)
Project Budget
The local government supports the day care center project with Rs.1.05* per child per day. This is by far not sufficient. Part-time staff is paid, but rent of the center is not. This money must come from the CST general fund. There is a tremendous need to sponsor the Child Development Center to provide the 26 urban slum dweller children a life of care with proper nutrition, health care and education.
To provide a shelter for 26 urban slum dweller children with food and nutrition in 2002, Rs.10 a day per child is the minimum needed. Of this, the teacher and cook can be paid, rent for shelter and the nutrition itself. Rs.10 a day means Rs.3,000 a year per child and Rs.78,000 (only US$1,660.00) for 26 children. The table below shows the breakdown of the needed budget for CDC.
